The Fascinating History of Filipino Television

Pinoy television broadcasting, arises from The Philippines. The Philippines for those who dont know, is a tropical paradise located in southern Asia . It has always been a predominantly christianly and peaceful country. The Philippines remains the home of the greatest well-known wrestlers today, Manny Pacquiao, the WBO champion of the world, pop singing princess Charice Pempengco as well as Arnel Pineda from "The Journey". All of these great Pinoy Celebrity sensations are stars.

We can't talk about Filipino TV broadcasting today from The Philippines without looking back into the past, where it all started. On the basis of some thorough analysis, The launching of our very first tv transmission was a creation belonging to James Lindenberg; who was an American engineer that married a pretty Filipina in Bolinao, Pangasinan. Within the Philippines, he is renowned to be "the founder of Filipino television". However, it wasn't easy for Lindenberg to set up the tv broadcast station because of the countless troubles he faced such as the lack of particular materials, equipment, tools and properlyeducated employees within his network. And so, alternativly to a TV Station he switch to a radio broadcaster. He named his company 'Bolinao Broadcasting Corp', and yes, Bolinao, this is where his wife grew up.

The dream of James came true with the coming of Judge Quirino. Who is Judge Quirino you may ask? He is related to Elpidio Quirino (the president of The Philippines), sixth president of The Philippines after the World War 2. Initially judge Quirino could not get this idea approved from the government in establishing the Pinoy TV station because of his personal dealings with the president, the public had a nasty idea that since he is brothers with the president, it might develop a confilct of interests. However judge Quirino turned out to be a really clever fellow, after all why would he be a judge should he not have been prudent. They managed to outwit the trouble of missing a proper license when judge Quirino bought 75percent of the shares of the Bolinao Stocks. But the creator or the father of Filipino Television still remained its operator, who became the manager of the Bolinao Broadcasting Corporation, which later was renamed to Alta Broadcasting.

The launching of The Philippines' first TV station was generously attended by general Samoff, the president of Radio Corporation of Online America. On station DZAQ, channel 3 was the first televised channel. In support of this important launch, Judge Quirino arranged the purchase of thousands of television sets from Joe's Electric, which quickly became the most popular television set exporter to the Philippines. Since there weren't any regional television programs produced to be telecast for tv thus far due to the face that Pinoy TV was just starting, the TV station had to temporarily adopt films from international embassies. Old american cowboy motion pictures, and some important events first entertained within the houses of privelaged Pinoys. When these broadcasters ran out of programs, stage plays were brought into the station from local theatre acts. The first play to be added to the station was from Father Reuter, a fantastic gentleman with American training for radio and television technologies.

A TV called for advertisers, but because it was really expensive to campaign local products and services on Tv than on radio at first, American corporations and other big players were among the selective entitled to have their promotions on Filipino television stations. These companies included 'Del Rosario Brothers', 'Procter and Gamble', and 'Colgate Philippines'. There were a astonishingly plentiful selection of programs available to the first tv audiences. Old American movies and films dominated the syllabuses surprisingly there also were local shows that had been very successful during the times such as 'Tawag ng Tanghalan' (a singing contest), 'Student Canteen' (a noontime variety show), and 'Kwentong Kutsero' (a comedy show).

Television was a lavishness before due to the fact that poor households were notable to afford to buy particularly with the initial collection of imported ones. But in 1955 a regional company Radiowealth became the first Filipino company to construct local tv sets, and was quickly followed by other companies. The explosion of the television Industry was followed by the creation of Chronicle Broadcasting Corporation, featured by two brothers Epifanio Lopez and Eugenio . Later in 1958 the Lopez brothers acquired Alta Broadcasting Corporation, and that initiated the Lopez Family's mastery over the television broadcast industry. Even today they continue to lead as the most popular Television Station of The Philippines, ABS CBN.

How to Watch International TV Online

Since the dawn of satelite television, people have enjoyed fantastic benefits. Everyone loved the many distinct channels, and the huge selection of international television channels from all around the earth. The one thing nobody was fond of thought, were the huge prices associated with this privelage. And as a direct result of these limitations, other alternatives came about. Some people attempted 'hacking' their satellite systems, to watch those high quality streams for free, however this required high levels of technical knowledge, was illegal, and never resulted in a permanent solution. The satellite television companies would regularly change the encryptions on their signals in an effort to thwart hackers, and the cycle would start once again.

A second and even better alternative was developed shortly after, and continues to evolve. Needing only a computer and access to the internet, people can use special softwares providing them with access to international satellite channels, requiring no additional hardware. In direct response to the avialability of these specialized softwares, the large satellite and cable providers continue to remian silent about the issue. They do not want to make their customers aware of the better, cheaper alternatives. However, the commonly held belief of the users of this software is that as more customers continue to switch from high monthly fees to the simpler softwares on their computers, the satellite and cable companies hopefully will finally become aware that their monopoly over television has deteriorated, and reduce their ridiculously inflated prices down to acceptable fees. However, until that happens, many customers will continue to either over-pay for their experience, or not be able to afford it at all if they haven't heard of this software.
